Attorney For Selma and Montgomery, Alabama
A Proven Advocate Forged in the Courtrooms of West Alabama
Elliott Owen Lipinsky is a Selma and Montgomery, Alabama trial attorney representing clients in criminal defense, personal injury, and wrongful death matters throughout West Alabama, the River Region, and Alabama's Historic Black Belt. A native of Montgomery who has called the River Region home for more than four decades, Elliott brings a lifelong familiarity with the community he serves and the deep local roots that come from a life spent in this part of Alabama. Admitted to the Alabama State Bar in April 2013 and to the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama in 2014, he has practiced law for fourteen years. As owner and managing partner of the Law Office of Elliott Lipinsky since January 2019, he is constantly in the courtroom, having won numerous jury trials and handled countless bench trials and hearings, and has represented approximately nine hundred clients in matters ranging from capital murder to traffic offenses. He practices regularly in Dallas, Wilcox, Perry, and Bullock Counties.
A Prosecutor's Perspective, Now Working for the Defense
What sets Elliott apart is the years he spent on the other side of the courtroom. Early in his legal career, he clerked for the City of Montgomery and for circuit courts in central Alabama, before going on to serve as an Assistant District Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit, prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases in Dallas, Bibb, and Perry Counties from 2013 to 2015. In 2016 he served as City Prosecutor for the City of Selma, then joined Hobbs and Hain as a junior partner, defending retained and indigent criminal clients in bench and jury trials while also handling general civil litigation. He went on to serve as Deputy District Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Tuscaloosa County from 2016 to 2017, and as Deputy District Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit in Wilcox County from 2017 to 2019, where he managed the district attorney's office and conducted all criminal prosecutions in the county. That experience, seeing firsthand how cases are built, charged, and tried from the state's side of the table, now informs how he defends the clients who come to him.

Elliott graduated from the University of Alabama, where he was a member of various organizations and fraternities. During his time there, he was the representative for the Alabama Interfraternity Council. At law school, Elliott was the Student Bar Association Senator.
